Barbara Prey: Chronicle of a Museum Commission

Barbara Ernst Prey is a profound watercolor painter. Before MASS MoCA's Building 6 was renovated into gallery space, Prey painted the mill building in it's raw empty state, on a breathtakingly large scale.

This book chronicles the process behind that painting. It includes photographs of Prey's studies leading up to the final painting, providing intimate access to the commission, and offering profound insight into her creative process.
